Creator Name | William Cameron (1751–1811), poet, was educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen, where he was a pupil of James Beattie, with whom he later continued to correspond. Having been licensed a preacher of the Church of Scotland, he was ordained minister of the parish of Kirknewton, Edinburgh, in 1786. In 1780 Cameron published anonymously Poems on Various Occasions. |
