| Description | Letter from Mary Beattie, Aberdeen, to Lady Mayne, thanking her for inquiring after the Beatties' health. Letter mentions Mr Beattie's broken arm and thanks Lady Mayne for informing Miss Cooper about him. Mrs Beattie says she was too ill to write to Miss Cooper and gives thanks, on behalf of Mr Beattie, for Lady Mayne's letter to him. Letter mentions Mr Beattie's letter regarding Mr Hume. Mrs Beattie tells how her health is 'still but very indifferent'; that she has never been as well as she was when she stayed with Lady Mayne and that she looks forward to spending the summer benefiting from the air and water at Peterhead. Mrs Beattie says that the second part of 'The Minstrel' is finished and that Mrs Montagu will show it to Lady Mayne soon. Letter mentions the Beatties seeing Mr Owen and Mr Waller; the Beatties' hope that Miss Graham is well and Mrs Beattie's music. |
