Releases Beattie from obligation to do life of his father [William tytler] because of poor health. Thanks for James Hay beattie works - praises them, and will refer to translation of Pope's Messiah in his Essay on Translation. Asks Beattie's approval. 'In him the author of the Minstrel saw his Edwin realized'.
