Administrative History	Lady (Frances) Mayne, later Lady Newhaven [d. 1801]. Wife of Sir William Mayne. Formerly Frances Allen, the heiress of a considerable estate in Ireland. She kept up a correspondence with Beattie and his wife for some years
Description	A shorter account of events than in letter MS 30/1//236. Beattie arranged Mrs Beattie's return although he thought she was not recovered. Bur disorder broke out again in the worse possible way with Beattie's most respectable friends the object of her rancour. If he lives till summer he would think of removing self and the two boys from this country for ever.
