Folio vellum folder marked "Leochiel-Cushnie" containing:
a) buff folder with papers apparently collected by Sheriff Macphail, including letters of George Home to Lord Arbuthnott 1817 and 1823 and Home's account 1824, all relating to his work on the Arbuthnott muniments. Also list of books and papers sent by the firm of Lindsay Howe & Co. to Lord Arbuthnott 1937.
b) Buff folder with notebook containing a genealogical account of the Arbuthnots of Buchan by Robert Arbuthnot of Mountpleasqnt Peterhead, including detailed family trees, with presentation dedication by the author to Lord Arbuthnott, 1844; together with copies of family photographs, a typed transcription and translation of the obits in the manuscript copies in MS 2764/3/1/11. Also part 2 of The Scottish Nation (Fullarton & Co., Edinburgh, n.d.) containg a biography of Alexander Arbuthnot.
c) Bundle of various notes, printed papers and correspondence relating to the Arbuthnott genealogy, including several draft family trees, 1903 - 1951, copies of family portraits, and other genealogical papers. |
