Has heard from secretary of New Spalding Club that publication of songs and ballads collected by his brother was to be abandoned, that the manuscripts were to be deposited in the University library meantime and that the Buchan Field Club was to issue work on Gavin Greig's collection edited by Keith; is disappointed to learn that his niece, Miss Duncan, had demanded the return of her father's manuscripts; gives recollections respecting certain items collected through himself, his sister, Mrs Gillespie and her mother, and of brother's contributors George Innes and Mary Gillan; a ballad "Is it in the links o' Forth" should not be included as it was the writer's own work; appends sheet of biographical details regarding the Duncan family.
