Refers back to contract of 3 July 1595 (1200 merks) sunny 8th part excambion and shadow fourth part sunny part of Innernorth & contract of (?) 5 June 1578 (700 merks) 4 oxgang of Innernorth. Precept of clare constat to John 13 Jull 1616 (see 63) & sasine on 16th. (see 64). Contract with Andrew Fraser, elder, of Stoneywood 21 Oct. 1627 re redemption for not less than 2000 merks. Now Andrew Fraser, younger, on father's behalf had paid John Fraser 908 merks 3 shillings & also a further 1901 merks 10/4, one thousand four score and ?.... making 2,000 merks in all which is acknowledged & assignation granted accordingly respecting said lands with procuratory of resignation & registration etc. Duly signed and witnessed by Wm. Garioch, Robert Barclay, Arthur Forbes & James Skene. |
