DescriptionContract between the laird of Stanywod and the toun of Aberdeen. Signed at Aberdeen between Andrew Fraser of Stanywod and Master John Cheyne of Fortrie sometime provost of Aberdeen, Patrick Cheyne, Baillie, James Setoun, Alex. Forbes, Andrew Scheray, David Fergusson, Johne Layne, James Stewart, elder, George Elphinstone sadler, Alexander Stevins, baxter, commissioners of said burgh authorised to decide boundary dispute respecting marches of town commonuty etc. and lands of Stanywod as in act thereanent in town records of 25 April 1597. Boundary marks to be set up dividing lands belonging to Fraser in barony of Stanywood and lands of Clintertie in parish of St Machar and the lands of the ? freedom and commontie of the burgh and the lands of Tullo, Bogfadley and Keppillhill, marches then described. Contract to be registered in book of council and session or books of Aberdeen Commissary or the burgh Procuratory of registration included. Written by Walter Robertson, N.P., Aberdeen Clerk substitute. Witnesses: Duncan Forbes portioner of Balnagask, Alex. Burnett son of Thos. Burnett of Cluny, Robert Hog in Gollen, Maister Robert Forbes, son of late James Forbes of Tulliboy, Maister Richard Irvyng, Wm. Gray burgess of Aberdeen, Thomas Mollisoun toun clerk of Aberdeen and said Walter Robertson (who both testified to by signature by Fergusson, Layng and Stewart who could not write), the signatures of the other parties and witnesses are appended.
