Note: The following information respecting the formation of the Association was obtained from a letter by J.J. Fowler dated the 18 October 1960. The S.S.A was formed on amalgamation on 20 January 1934 of the Men Teachers' Association (Glasgow) - founded in 1931, and the Scottish Schoolmasters Association (Edinburgh) - founded in 1932, by joint council, between them and representatives from other areas and drafting of constitution. 1st A.G.M. held on 29th December 1934, 2nd on 11 January 1936. There was no A.G.M. in 1940. |
