Typescript letter from Graham Callander, National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland, Edinburgh, regarding animal and human bones excavated from Rousay in 1935, 26 June 1935. States that the excavation was disappointing in terms of finds; that there were some animal bones, but very few human ones; that Low should retain the human bones in Aberdeen once having gone over them, but to send the animal bones on the Royal Scottish Museum [Edinburgh]. He is especially keen to know if the burnt bones are human; is disappointed that the finds were so few; the cairn contained 12 cells, but they only recovered a few small fragments of pottery and one flint scraper; Mr Grant may do a horned cairn this summer, which he hopes will prove more fruitful.
