Description | Contract of alienation between John Gordon of Buckie and Walter, Thomas and Alexander Cheyne, signed at Stirling. On paper in O.Sc. Duly signed and witnessed. Anent sale to Buckie of lands of Tillydesk. Parties concerned are John Gordon of Buckie on one part and Walter Cheyne, sometime of Arnage ["Arnaoche"] (with consent of wife Margaret Cheyne), Thomas Cheyne of ? Rainstoun and Alex. Cheyne in Cauldwallis on the other. Gordon had paid Walter Cheyne 7500 merks and in consideration thereof is to be infeft in lands of Tillydesk, Toddilhills and Elphin in parish of Ellon of himself and also of his immediate superior, John, Earl of Mar (for feu duty of 20 merks yearly), Walter Cheyne and wife to retain liferent of lands of Tillydesk occupied by them. Elphin and Toddilhills apparently wadset to Thomas and Alex. Chyne for 2500 merks and 2400 merks respectively but reversion of these now transferred to Gordon. Duly signed and witnessed.
