Description | Excerpt [probably made in 19th cent.] from deed of entail of Turnerhall about payments to burgesses of Aberdeen and Trades Hospital. 200 merks yearly be paid to "decayed honest Burgesses" of Aberdeen and 100 merks for maintenance of each of 2 "decayed Burgars in towns hospital", and also 75 merks each to 2 burgesses "Craf tmen in the Craft hospital. Relevant clauses in 134. supra read as follows: ... to be paid yearly two hundreth merks to decayed honest Burgers of Aberdein, or to their widows, to be distributed to them according to the magistrate and councell direction ... to be yearly paid, for maintenance of two decayed Burgers to live in the Toun's Hospital, to every of them one hundereth merks and for maintenance of two Burgers craftsmen, in ye Crafts Hospital to every ane of them seventie five merks..." |
