Description | Disposition granted at Aberdeen by William Moir, advocate with consent of his wife, Isobel Alexander (respecting liferent rights, Sir Ludovic Gordon of Gordonstoune, Robert Gordon, younger, of Gordonstoune, his son, and James Watson, merchant in Aberdeen, in favour of John Ross (or Rose), brother of Hugh Ross of Kilravoch, on advance by him of £39,000 Sc., for which is disponed the barony of Hiltoune etc., Tillidesk and pendicles of Toddilhillocks and Elphin to Ross and his wife, Margaret Udny, in conjunct fie & liferent to either survivor of their heirs male. Lands then detailed and mention made of salmon fishing on Ythan off Kinharrachie , rights to tiend sheaves etc. Little Arnage, Corshill etc; Tillidesk etc. Procuratory of resignation for new infeftment is included & provision made regarding liferent rights of Rose's wife, + ratification by Moir's wife where necessary re hers. Exception made regarding tolerance of carriage of peats from Moss of Tillidesk held by John and Alex. Gordon of Coldwells, which they are to retain with pasturage rights and all rights and tollerances if any in favour of Robt. Udny of Auchterellon re casting etc of peats from Hilltoun Moss or Corsehill for Auchterellon tenants etc., + provision for taking over rights re tacks granted by Moir, possession of relevant writs etc., Rose also assigned the "fixed work" of the manor place & buildings of Hiltoune & seating & burial places in kirk of Ellon.
