DescriptionExtract by A. Primrose, clerk register granted at Edinburgh on 3 July 1674 following on action raised at the instance of Sir John Nisbet of Dirletoune, H.M. advocate, and William Moir, donator,[of escheat] against Alexander Donaldsone of Hiltoune. Mention is made of gift of escheat to Moir of 11 July 1673 - see 138 supra and legal action subsequent thereto. Donaldson found to have been put to the horn, denounced etc.for over a year today and has therefore "omitted and cut"his liferent of lands etc. involved and these now fall to the crown and hence to Wm. Moir as donator- decreet given against defenders and in favour of pursuers.
