Description | This sketchbook appears to have originally belonged to William Smith. Inside the front cover is the inscription "William Smith, April 1839" with the exception of the first page, the following pages appears to be written in a different handwriting to Kelly and the ink used appears to be Iron Gall ink. This first section of the sketchbook includes formulas, technical drawings relating to waggons and railways and lists of prices. Inside the back cover is the inscription "William Kelly, 62 Rubislaw Den North & 367 Union Street, 1924". The following pages include architectural drawings and landscapes. Locations include Tarland Parish Church, Kinnarid Castle, Midmar Castle, King's College Chapel and a series of working drawings from Dunecht and the Dunecht estate. |
