DescriptionInstrument of sasine [on parchment in Latin] whereby Robert Douglas and Christian Scot, his wife, are seized of half of a tenement of land in Musselburgh. Taken by William Smyth, N.P. on 16 August 1667. Christian Scot and her sister were the daughters and heirs portioners of the late Mary Smart, relict of late William Scot, former baillie of Musselburgh, who died last infeft in said lands and daughters were liable to be infeft by the baillies therein. Christian Scot had resigned her rights in favour of her husband, Robert Douglas. In dorso is record of registration of above sasine in register of Sasines in sheriffdom of Edinburgh, etc. by Sir John Foulis, keeper of same, on 21 August 1667.
