Creator NameGregory, James (1753 - 1821), professor of the practice and theory of physic at the University of Edinburgh
DescriptionLetter from James Gregory to Mrs W Gregory in Canterbury concerning the welfare of her sons. He apologises for not writing sooner explaining that the pressure of work keeps him very busy, especially in the winter. He tells her her sons have been 'stout and well' since James had had scarlet fever in October, that they were growing tall and that their conduct, behaviour and application to their studies had been everything that she could have wished. He tells her not to worry about money, that their college expenses had been a trifle and that she ought not to encroach on her capital as long as he lived and prospered. He ends by asking her to pass on his best wishes to the Misses Sayers, Mr and Mrs Sayers and all his young friends, 20 April 1804.
