Description | Printed inscription written by James Gregory for a monument to King Robert Bruce to be erected in the Church of Dunfermline. The inscription states that in building the new church of Dunfermline, the grave of King Robert was accidentally opened and his remains are therefore being recommitted to the ground. He is described as a 'Great Hero and Excellent King', 1818 |
