Gregory, San Francisco, California, to Sir Philip Spencer Gregory in which he apologises for his delay in replying and explains that his brother's death on the 19th of August and his sister-in-law's subsequent journey to Germany with the children has taken up his time. He thanks Sir Philip Spencer Gregory for the books and encloses a copy towards the printing of them. He tells him that he is moving into a new house in Oakland in 3 months but that he'll do his best to make a pleasant stay for Sir Philip's friends, Lady [Burill] and her daughter. He invites Sir Philip to visit and expresses his sorrow at the death of the son of Colonel Gregory, 21 November 1886. |
