Description | Letters written by Francis Grant, Georgia to Charles Gordon of Buthlaw, near Fraserburgh, Scotland. Copy of MS 1160/6/15/2 prefixed to later report of 2 December. He has seen report of Gordon’s safe arrival in England. Continued rain had added considerably to ‘lodged canes’ and the late ones are coming on. He has employed extra ‘jobbing negroes’ to plant cane on new land before starting to build walls. He advises purchase of such men in preference to new ones. |
