Description | Letter from Alastair N. Tayler, 181 Queen's Gate, London, S.W. to Colonel C. T. Gordon. Thanks him for his swift reply. He is disappointed that Gordon had not managed to find anything about Charles Gordon of Buthlaw and his involvement in the 1715 Rebellion; notes that many families were probably careful to destroy any evidence of 'Jacobite sympathies' after the failure of the rising. Notes are given by Tayler concerning evidence he has discovered which seems to show Charles Gordon supported the Jacobite cause.
