Administrative History | Francis Molloy was born in Meath, Ireland, in the early 17th century and became a priest of the Franciscan Order, representing Irish Catholics at the papal court. He was appointed professor of theology at St. Isidore’s College, Rome, and wrote on theology in Latin and Irish Gaelic. He was a great proponent of the latter language, and wrote the first grammar in 1677. His writing career seems to have lasted at least from 1645 to 1677, but his date of death is unknown. |
