| Administrative History | Jacobus Telones of Zweibrücken, German student studying in England. (The name is the humanist translation of Jakob Zöllner) |
| Description | Letter in Latin asking Beale to provide a recommendation Abstract: He has not the means to stay longer in London. His only hope of staying on in England now rests on the good will of the Bishop of Salisbury, who is also Lord Almoner; the authorities of Oxford think he might provide an annual stipend, which he would not require for more than a year, or at the most two. But he needs the support of a prominent man in making his request, and asks Beale to recommend him either by letter or by word of mouth. If Beale wrote he would take the letter to Salisbury, but Beale might think it better to await the Bishop’s arrival in London and that Telones should (after Michaelmas) return to Oxford to await the outcome.
