DescriptionLetter in Latin, 2 pages, further discussing Glauburg's son August and current events in Germany
Abstract:
Acknowledges a letter from Beale delivered by a certain “Rinnamius”; an earlier letter he had not received, “which can easily happen in these most troubled times, when almost nothing is safe”. Thanks Beale for so strenuously forwarding his son’s case with Sidney that he has “promised to take him into his household, if that can conveniently be arranged, or at least see that he may meanwhile live with the Earl of Pembroke for a time till he can be accommodated in his own household”. He had decided to send his son to England at the time of the Spring Fair, but he has had an accident to his leg and also has fever. Glauburg is obliged therefore to keep him at home till he is better and means to send him at the time of the Autumn Fair. Asks Beale to present his duty to Sidney and ensure that he continues to be willing to receive his son. Brief items of continental news. There has recently been a formal disputation between the Calvinists and the Lutherans, in which the Calvinists and “a certain John Jacob Grijnaeus” got the better. If the proceedings are published Glauburg will see Beale receives a copy.
