DescriptionShort letter in French in scribe's hand from teh French ambassador in London. . De Castelnau is writing with a short plea for aid for a 'poor woman', not explicitly named:
'Monsieur, Il y a ceste paoure fenmme pleine de pitié qui dict auoir receu de vous grande ayde & faueur en la juste deliurance de son mary. Pour laquelle M[adam]e Crouch se deult et s'absené de la paoure femme'. She is being treated badly, and has appealed to de Castelnau for these few words of address, which he cannot deny her.
