| Description | Letter to Alexander Allerdyce from George Auldjo, Provost, John Copland, William Ritchie, Peter Duguid and William Littlejohn, officials of Aberdeen Town Council, in which they state that they have contacted Henry Dundas, Principal Secretary of State, regarding their recommendation of Dr Livingston to fill the likely forthcoming post of Chair of Medicine for Marischal College. They state that they were informed that a resignation had been obtained from Dr Donaldson. They further state that the transaction would be incompatible with their recommendation and they suggest he overrules it, 23 January 1753. |
