| Description | Letter from the Principal of Marischal College to an unknown recipient (possibly Henry Dundas, Principal Secretary of State) in which he states that there is no current vacancy in the Chair of Medicine of Marischal College and that he and his colleagues strongly object to the town council trying to appoint their own candidate to the staff of the university. He believes that the appointment would be a political one and that the town council would not pay as much attention to the academic qualifications of the candidate were they to appoint someone, 14 January 1793. |
