Administrative HistoryThe son of Robert Stewart, late provost of Aberdeen, John Stewart graduated MA from Marischal College in 1726. He was appointed to the chair of mathematics the following year, and was Dean of Faculty from 1761. He held both these posts until his death in 1766.
