| Administrative History | Thomas Gray M.A., 1664, was the fourth Librarian of Marischal College, and held office, 1669 - 1673. He was seventh son of Thomas Gray of Mamewlay (M.A. Mar Coll., 1622), thrice Provost of Aberdeen, 1645 - 1655; and Great Grandson of Gilbert Gray (M.A., Edinburgh., 1592), second principal of Marischal College, 1598 - 1614; Robert Paterson, M.A., 1665, the fifth librarian of Marischal College. Appointed Regent in 1667, and Principal in 1678, held the office of librarian from 1673 till his death in 1717 |
