| Administrative History | John Paterson was not a graduate of Marischal College. However, he bequeathed £400 in 1762 to form a bursary and augment the salary of the Professor of Medicine, as well as making other bequests. The allocation of the bursary was to show preference first to his own relations, then to anyone of the name of Paterson, then to sons of Hammermen burgesses of Aberdeen. |
