'I have been looking over the papers that you kindly brought to me today and have found a good deal of interest in them. On looking again into Professor Knight's volumes I think there can be no doubt that his copy of the charter of 1582 is taken from Professor Stuarts M.S. book, which is several times referred to Dr Stuart and Dr Knight were colleagues, 1823 - 27. Other documents that I am anxious to come upon, ? to by Dr Knight, one - Papers connected with a Royal Visitation of the Aberdeen Colleges in 1716 - 17, Funeral oration delivered on death of Principal Gilbert Gray, 1615. But any papers relating to Marischal College, as to the Friars (whose property came into the possession of the college) I shall be glad to see...' |
