Administrative History | Sir Alexander Sutherland of Duffus was elevated to the peerage of Scotland in 1650 as Baron Duffus. He was married four times but only had issue from one marriage, and his only son, James, succeeded him at his death in 1674.; Third Spalding Club miscellany, II, p.256; File contains two photocopies and an original. One of the copies is of the original account for the dinner and the second appears to be 'an account of the glass work in the King's College in Old Aberdeen, created at the command of Alexander Middleton, 1664 - 1665.
