Administrative History | Professor John Lumsden, Professor of Divinity. Cairntradlin and Scots Mill, Parish of Kinellar, and County of Aberdeen, the college, on 24th of April 1753, by a minute, agreed that the lands of Cairntradlin belonged to the Professor of Divinity. Accordingly on 5th September 1753, Mr John Lumsden, then Professor of Divinity, with the consent of the committee of the Synod of Aberdeen, granted a charter of the said lands in favour of the Principal, the professors of Humanity, Greek, Philosophy and Oriental Languages, nominatum, all in the said college, and to their successors in office in their respective offices, to be held of by the Professor of Divinity as superiors for the yearly feu duty...'
