Extent1 volume
DescriptionKing's College Inventory 1542 [from Shuttle 23.1]; An old register of the whole utensils both silver, brass, iron and others belonging to the Church, steeple, hall, chambers, kitchen etc of the said College vestry and other parts of the said College in the year 1542 made in a Rectoral visitation by the Rector, Mr James Strachan [Strathauchin] of Balhelvy and his four assessors.
The books in this inventory are not the library books, despite the fact that the existence of the library is mentioned. Rather, they are a list of liturgical and related books which supported the activities of the Chapel; antiphonaries, epistolars, gospels, missals, 'a book accommodated to the needs of the organist' and two 'books for the young', probably for the teaching of the child Choristers.
