Administrative HistoryIf a creditor could not be reimbursed for a debt from the seizure and sale of a debtors goods, he could proceed by imprisoning the debtor's person. This was achieved by a letter of caption, which outlined the initial debt and instructed a messenger to charge sheriffs and magistrates to imprison the debtor.
DescriptionThis series contains letters of caption, horning and inhibitions between the College and various debtors for the period 1658 - 1736.
