Page 1 records the number of visits made to George Stephen of Bonnyton and his family for the period 6 November 1839-20 November 1840, noting his payment of £2.12.6 on the 24 September. Some of the places visited include Glenlogie, Old Rain [Rayne], Colliehill, Pitcaple, Whitemires [Whitemyres], Kirkton, Chapel of Garioch, Neuk, Drum, Braco and Whiteford. Enclosed between pages 20 and 21 for the year 1842 is a letter from Robert Ledingham, Advocate, 52 King Street, Aberdeen, dated 15 July 1854 to Samuel Davidson. He encloses copy of letter from Mr. Anderson, Lyon Clerk Depute, to Robert Ledingham informing him of the resignation of Robert Webster, Messenger at Arms and requesting a Post Office order be made out for the fees owed. There are notes at the bottom of the letter relating to a bond of cautionery. Inserted between pages 14 and 15 for the year 1843 is a note of payment for 'medicines and attendance' of the late Christian Allan for £50, dated 1847. At the end of the volume there is an index to the ledger for the year 1846 and information recorded under the heading 'Crop 1842'. |
