TitleLetter: King George V to Sir James Reid
Date31 August 1914
Extent1 item
DescriptionLetter addressed to Sir James Reid, The Chestnuts, Ellon from King George V, Buckingham Palace dated 31 August 1914. Thanks Reid for letter giving detailed account of his son's condition. He is glad he has got _ old room and one of the same nurses. 'The Queen and I entirely agree with you and Marnoch, that as soon as he is in a fit state that his appendix should be removed and that the operation should take place at Aberdeen, much better in every way than moving him to London. Of course when he is convalescent after the operation he can come down to us, as it would be a little time before he could rejoin his ship again. Cheer him up as much as possible, if he wants anything let me know at once. I quite understand everything about the case now and leave him in your and Marnoch's hands'.
