Weekly remarks are included on pages 22, 36, 51, 64, 82 (written in different hand), 99 and 131, and these provide a summary of the progress of the patients. At the end of the volume is an index of cases.
A sample of the cases described for the week 31 December-5 January 1798 (pages 82-83) is as follows: 'Berryman. The ulcers are still numerous and extended over a considerable inflamed space but seem inclined to heal up slowly'. 'Jennings. Gonorrhea is the disease which affects this case. He has been long _ to it; at present he affirms that no fresh infection has been [received?]. But from _ _ this assertion appears to be void of truth'. 'McAbe. Ulcers on legs with diseased state of the bone. The origin of the complaint was a fall which fractured the fibula, near which splinters of bone have been discharged, and the ulcers are now in a foul unhealthy state'. |
