| Description | Case book, numbered from pages 1-342. Covering letter by C. _ Urquhart, 250 Union Street, Aberdeen attached to inside front cover dated 4 March [1897]. It reads as follows: 'Dear Dr.'s; I send you a case book I found some time ago. I do not know whether you will care to have it in the Med. Ch. but it is no use to me and may be interesting to anyone of antiquarian tastes'. The entries are written in a very small, neat hand and record in some detail the condition and treatment of cases admitted into the Infirmary [presumably at Aberdeen]. An index of cases is also included for specific years (for example, see page 220). The start of the volume contains notes on a case of empyema and a case of emphysema, both admitted in 1820 and a list of operations performed in the Infirmary between the 20 December 1819 and the 20 December 1820. Pages 7-13 contain case notes on patients admitted with fever for the month of January 1820. Other entries include:
