Administrative History | J.J.R. Macleod (1876-1935), co-discoverer of insulin, graduated MB ChB with honours in 1898 from the University of Aberdeen. After several initial postings, including at the Physiology Institute in Leipzig, he was appointed Professor of Physiology at the Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1903. He remained in post until 1918 when he became Professor of Physiology at Toronto. In 1928 he was appointed Regius Professor of Physiology at Aberdeen. |
