First discourse: Asthma, Mr. Mitchell; Second discourse: The Eye, Mr. McLean; President: Mr. Smith
Three new regulations introduced, including one relating to the election of Presidents requiring members to declare that they have 'neither solicited nor promised a vote in favour of any member at this election'.

16 December
Amenorrhoea and Phrenitis.

First discourse: Yellow Fever, Mr. Paterson; Second discourse: Odontalgia, Mr. Mitchell; President: Mr. Paterson
Committee appointed to draw up list of books required by the Society following intimation by Mr. Paul, elected an extraordinary member in December, that he would like to present a gift of books to the Society. Also note of donations to Society [also see minute of 17 January].

3 February
Gout and Temperaments.

[It is recorded after the minute of the 10 February that no meetings were held on the three following evenings 'there being a subject on the table for injection and dissection'.]

10 March
First dissertation: Remittent Fever, Mr. McDonald; Second dissertation: Syncope, Mr. Scott; President: Mr. McDonald

7 April
Melancholia and Cow-pox.

20 April
Meeting held in Society Hall to hear report of committee appointed to inspect the accounts of the Library and Treasurer, which were found to be 'perfectly regular and accurate'.

30 June
Mr. Smith delivered a discourse on pneumonia (1 page) and a proposal by Mr. Paterson was agreed to, namely 'that every person absenting himself from taking up or depositing a dead body shall be fined 10/6 sterling unless indisposed'.

11 July
Mr. McLean made some observations on opium (4 pages) and a discussion took place regarding camphor (2 pages).

1 August
Discussion on digitalis took place with Dr. Taylor calling it a 'very dangerous remedy'.

15 August
Dissertation on acids by Mr. William Falconer (2 pages).

13 October
First dissertation: Anasarca, Mr. Garrack (2 pages); Second dissertation: Electricity, Mr. Falconer (1 page).

7 December
First dissertation: Menstruation, Mr. Lamb (2 pages); Second dissertation: Worms, Mr. Moir (1 page).
