| Administrative History | The Universities (Scotland) Acts, 1858-1966, and the Ordinances and Resolutions made thereunder, regulate the present constitution and government of the four ancient Scottish Universities: St. Andrews, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Up to 1991 there had been five Universities (Scotland) Acts: 1858, 1889, 1922, 1932 and 1966. The various Courts agreed to consolidate the existing Ordinances in 1959 and separately published those which directly referred to each University, leading to the first volume of 'Acts, ordinances and resolutions affecting the University of Aberdeen', published in November 1965. |
