Administrative History | There was no Gala Week in 1929 (Aberdeen University Review Vol XVI p.164) due to the "exceptional call which is at present being made upon the resources of Aberdeen and the outlying districts in the way of voluntary contributions to the hospitals". However, the customary Student Show was still performed during 15-20 April 1929: an updated production of the revue 'Northern Lights'.
In the AUR of March 1929 the sums raised since the first Gala Week in 1920 were recorded: 1920: £1560; 1921: £2230; 1922: £4260; 1923: £4971; 1924: £4067; 1925: £4956; 1926: £4977; 1927: £5828; 1928: £4220 (AUR Vol XVI, p.164). |
