| Title | Letter: Gavin Greig, Schoolhouse, Whitehill, New Deer to James Bruce Duncan |
| Date | 30 January 1909 |
| Extent | 1 item |
| Description | Reports on success of recent performances of 'Prince Charlie' and on work on article for the Book of Buchan; is grateful for advice on collaboration given in recent letter, but differs as to what should be published; anything immoral should be omitted but standards applied should not be abnormally high as this would lead to misrepresentation; considers it necessary to publish something to meet popular demand as well as the New Spalding Club work in order to encourage helpers and to meet Carnegie Trust conditions; considers that he should have some return for time spent on Buchan Observer articles; discusses at length publication of words, alone, selection of words and music; had thought of working single-handed if James Bruce Duncan did not wish to collaborate as suggested; is very anxious to pool materials if possible. |
