| Description | Game book entitled D.H.D (Captain Duncan Hamlyn Davidson., 1877-1915).
It comprises tables of game animals killed 1887 -c.1901. Includes date, the state of the weather, where the game was killed, the year, the nmber of guns, the different animal types - grouse, phesant, patridge, woodcock, snipe, duck, hare, rabbit, wood pigeon and total game killed.
There are additonal notes and inserts within the book, some including hand-drawn tables and notes for different seasons, mainly related to fish rather than game. The final page contains a letter dated 8th August 1888 written by Duncan Davidson answering concern over obtaining gun licence for his son. The book also contains a drawing dated Setember 21 1892, a black and white photograph subtitled 'over the goots on the lower Seattie', Duncan Hamlyn Davidson's Gun Licence dated 20th August 1887, and descriptions of his dogs including 'Syd' the reteriver said to be "very nervous" but with "good manners". |
