Administrative HistoryAlexander Burns Shand (1828 - 1904) was educated at Edinburgh and Glasgow University and was admitted as an Advocate for the Scottish Bar in 1855. His offical roles include: Advocate Depute 1860 - 1862, Shefiff of Kincardine 1862, Judge of the Court of Session (Scotland) 1872 - 1890, Privy Councillor in 1890 and Lord Appeal of the Ordinary.
