| Description | Six items of correspondance in one bundle about chapter in textbook 'Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Imaging'. Firstly a letter to Professor Mallard from Dr L Partain, Associate Professor of Radiology and Director of Radiological Sciences Division of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee dated 30.1.81 inviting him to contribute to a textbook on which Dr Partain was acting as one of the editors. It also includes all the parameters for the chapter and a handwritten note from Dr Partain. Secondly, a tentative outline from the publishers W.B.Saunders of the proposed book with the three chapters to be contributed by the Aberdeen team highlighted. The letter is dated 6 February 1981 and includes a handwritten note from Jim H.(James M.S.Hutchison) to the Professor. Thirdly, a short note from Professor Mallard to Frank (Frank Smith) asking him to help write a chapter for book as above dated 17.2.81. Next a letter from John J. Hanley, President of W.B.Saunders Company, the publishers of the textbook welcoming Professor Mallard. There are a number of handwritten notes by Professor Mallard to his staff and colleagues. Next is a letter from Professor A.E.James, one of the editors of the book dated September 9 1981 trying to prompt Professor Mallard to return his chapter as quickly as possible. Finally, a letter from Professor Price of Vanderbilt University dated 28 November 1980 with a reference for Wilfried Bergmann, a request to visit the Aberdeen team and an invitation to visit the Vanderbilt University Radiology and Radiological Sciences team.
