DescriptionInvestigation into the completed welding work on the Frigg pipeline at the lower depths, examining the results and advising on future procedures. Report comprises the following chapters: Introduction; Review of the dimensions and mechanical properties of pipelines used on Frigg site; Welding Procedures; Analysis of the defects found during the fabrication of Frigg gas pipelines; Investigation into the possible use of the procedures at lower depths and for heavier thicknesses; and a Conclusion. There are several appendices, mostly graphs, charts and tables on the method and conditions for the welding and the nature of the defects. Although the report is in English, much of the appendical documentation is in French.
