| Description | Letter from John Ellis, Gray's Inn, London, to David Skene in which he states that he has received specimen of baderlocks and requests another; he describes Solander's method of preserving insects and way of preserving animals in spirits; he has received some curious sea pens from Mr Pennant of Wales; Solander has 'place of assistant librarian in the Natural Curiosity Department at the British Museum'; he suggests that David Skene should send Linnaeus specimens and should correspond with him; Job Baster of Zerkzee in Zealand has laid hold of Linnaeus' unorthodox opinions on sertularias and used them to attack Ellis; he refers to Count Carbus who was then in Scotland, 27 June 1765. |
