Description | Letter from David Skene to John Ellis in which he thanks him for the plan of the conservatory; he was disappointed that Ellis had not received specimens he had sent by sea and suggests he sends to Mr Boyne if they had not arrived; he discusses pepper dulse; requests specimens of fuc. consevae; the pepper dulse and baderlocks are not now in season but he promises to send some good ones in the spring; he has recently found some good specimens of sert. muricatae or echinata which he describes and promises to send a specimen by sea; he also has two large specimens of sponges growing on mussel shells but has had no time to examine them, 18 January 1766. |
